One Page Resume Format for India
The Golden Rule:
If you have less than 5 years of experience, your resume MUST be one page. Indian recruiters simply do not scroll to the second page for junior roles.
Why One Page?
Recruiters scan resumes in 6-10 seconds. A one-page resume forces you to prioritize your most impactful achievements, making it easier for them to spot your value immediately.
Longer resumes are often seen as "fluff" or an inability to communicate concisely—a red flag for roles at competitive firms like Google India or McKinsey.
How to Fit Everything on One Page?
Cut the "Declaration"
"I hereby declare that all info is true..." is outdated (from the 1990s). Delete it. It saves 3-4 lines.
Remove Reference Section
"References available on request" is implied. Delete it.
Summarize Older Roles
If you have a job from 4 years ago, just list the Title and Company. Don't add 5 bullets.
